you can reformat your mac ipod into a win ipod as shown here (http://ipodlounge.com/forums/showthread.php?s=&threadid=4). you can also choose to retain the mac format and use f.e. macopener and ephpod to upload your music files. i?d recommend the former over the latter.
try searching the old forum database for additional info.

Amy:
Welcome to the 'lounge! And congrats on your iPod.
A little clarification. There isn't a Windows cord vs. a Mac Cord. They are all the same. You have to have a firewire card or port on your computer in order to connect the iPod. It will have a plug that fits that cord. Unless you have a laptop, then you'll need what's called a 6-pin to 4-pin firewire cord. You can get those at most any Computer/Office Supply store.
I'd really recommend what mrm suggested, download the updater program and convert your Mac iPod (MiPod) to a Windows iPod (WiPod). Then you won't have to worry about macopener and all that. Just get ephpod, xplay or MC9 (media center 9).
You can read all about these in the various boards here...
