Help

I had a 30Gig for several months it worked great but had a display problem, so I sent it back and apple gave me a new one. This one worked for a day but now is giving me major grief. It now won't turn on at all even after a reset, just a blank screen and everytime I dock it, nothing happens to the IPod but it locks my computer.
I dont think its a firewire problem as my other one workef perfect for 2 months.
Any ideas as to what might be wrong, when I try to reset it I hear that little click that it makes but then nothing after that...

Try putting it into forced firewire mode.

Do a reset, at the Apple Logo press the FF and Rew buttons. It should come up w/"OK To Disconnect". Then connect it to the dock and see if the PC recognizes it.

Then do an restore w/the 2.0.1 firmware

Thanks for the suggestion. I can't get anything to show up on the screen during a restore(holding down play and menu) just a little high pitched noise and then nothing, no apple? Is it pooched?

You should contact Apple (again). It's not your fault that they send you a bad iPod.
