Hi, wcheet,

Yes, you can charge the ipod anywhere in the world with your charger - it's multi-voltage (generally, all PC, and Mac peripherals ship with universal chargers, though it pays to check the info on the brick itself).

As for battery life, I can only tell you the basics - turn off the backlighting; avoid high bitrates for your files - they increase the access times from the hard drive to the buffer, thereby draining the battery (personally, that's a price I'm willing to pay - I'm a stickler for sound quality); make good use of your playlists - don't skip forwards and backwards too much - again, when you do, the iPod spins the HD with every skip, using more power.

As for any downloadable programs - haven't heard of any software that provides power management on the ipod itself. If you don't want to get caught out with a drained iPod, get the Belkin battery pack for the new 3G iPods. it has suction cups to attach it to the back of the iPod, and a dock connector to plug into the main unit. However, who wants to risk carrying their 'Pod without a carry case??

Hope that Helps

Moory

p.s. Have a great holiday:cool:

look around the forums... theres lots of threads about power conserving.

And the for the plug converter...i'm not sure. Technically, it would work, but once when i used a plug converter for the blow dryer, it wasn't as strong. So it depends. I'm not to sure about this.
