ARGHH! Ipod Froze

I was putting new songs on my ipod, when it just turned off (due to a empty battery). It told me to go re-charge it (obviously:p), but not it just sits with the Apple logo. I don't know if its charging or not. I can't access anything!!!
Argh. I need to get to the shops!

Rule #1 (as you've probably guessed), don't let the iPod's battery die during transfers. Get the USB power cable or a powered firewire card. Even if you have a laptop you can get power by getting a 2 port (6pin) card and connecting one port to the AC adaptor.

Anyway, try the usual:

1. Reset w/the iPod connected to the AC adaptor (that's Menu + Pause/Play)

2. Try forced firewire (Rew + FF)

3. Wait until the battery dies.

Thanks. That worked, now all my songs seems to have "disappeared", yet it reads that I have used up 8gb :(. How do I unhide the files?

Do a restore. Your iPod's database is corrupted because it failed during upload.

You'll need to do the restore and then reupload all your tunes.
