iPOD manager

I'm having a problem with the "ipod manager" app. it take a LONG time for it to recognize my ipod when i plug it in and it crashes all the time so i have to reset my ipod of restart my computer so i can disconnect it from the dock. what can i do to stop the madness?

I wouldn't worry too much about this is you only really need to use the Updater to restore or update your iPod, or to do 'soft' mounts of you iPod (connect and disconnect your iPod from your computer without actually physically unplugging it), both of which you shouldn't need to do very often.

So if everything else is working fine I wouldn't worry about it.

However it should work ok. Firstly is your iPod 2.0.1? Do you have the manager software already running and then plug in the iPod? Are you using firewire or USB? When iPod manager 'crashes', what error does it give you?

Just uninstall the iPod Manager. It's not needed and just causes problems.

You can keep the Updater installed (it will be under Start>Programs>iPod>Updater), but uninstall the iPod Manager.
