No USB cable in box with new iPod 15gb
I was very disappointed with apple with not supplying this cable with the product. It's real nice to say you could use USB 2.0, but it's another to say that and not include the cable. Luck for me my laptop has a firewire plug, so I could move files over my network from my desktop where my MP3 live. I broke down and purchased it from Apple.com for $19 + shipping. But it seems to me they should include this in the box. Does anybody else think this sucks?

I think I'd just go buy a 19 dollar firewire card at a PC store and plug it in. Much easier solution.

Apple never said that it was going to come with the USB 2.0 cable in box. Firewire is their preferred solution (Apple helped to develop Firewire, so it's not surprising) and USB 2.0 was just an optional add-on.

Hmmm. I got my 15 GB iPod (an hour ago) from Volkswagen, and it came with both FireWire and USB cables, plus an A/C wall adapter.
It came in what appeared to be standard iPod packaging. I believe that VW is supplying the USB cable with all of their iPods.

The box does say "USB 2.0 support coming soon. Check www.apple.com/ipod for free software download and USB 2.0 cable functionality"... Besides, which format is Apple trying to push? :D
