the lamest question ever....

i've been having TONS of problems out of my new 30 gig ipod, but i think (fingers crossed ) that I finally have it sorted out with the new ephpod program, however, i have one last, very serious problem. i know the solution is simple (even for me, probably), but i can't seem to find it....

here's the deal:

i was fumbling around with the ipod in the dark last night and i suppose i accidentally selected the wrong language on the language selection screen. now it's in Chinese or perhaps Japanese. I've tried the 'toggle hold switch, press 'menu' and 'play' key simultaneously trick, but it didn't reset the language screen.

could someone walk me through this, pleeease? also, is there a way to select another language (English preferably), without resetting the ipod's contents...

geeze...

hehe, nasty trick that one..

OK, turn on your iPod. Hit Menu a bunch of times so you're sure you're at the Main Menu.

Go to the 4th item from the top, select that one
Scroll down, the 3rd from the bottom will be Language, select that.
English is the first language, select that

No problem Mikey.. :D

Hey, think about it, you could get really good at this and learn how to speak like a ton of different languages, just from your iPod.

Sure, you'd only know a few words, but well, you could impress people by stringing those words together...

:in Japanese:

"Playlists About Settings Repeat Date & Time"

Heck no one would know that you've no idea what your saying and that your total vocabulary was like maybe 100 words. There's a ton of them in the On-the-go playlist instructions. :D

Ah, iPod as international interpreter...
