Window Firmware Cancelled?

I've been off the forum for a while. I see thatthe Apple web page no longer even lists a firmware update for the older Winpods. First they said it would be available in May. May came and went. Then it said it would be available "soon". Now, it's not gonna be available!

It will be available if/when iTunes for Windows is released.

yea, i noticed that too. really sucks for those of us who have the old ipod and don't have the money to buy a new one.

I have an old gen1 iPod and have no need for a new one, since I like the button locations and the scroll wheel. The hacked firmware is available and works, and since AAC really doesn't work for windows anyway you would really only need if for the audible support, correct.

I will keep my nice gen1 iPod, since it works great, and has longer battery life. The only thing Apple could do to #### me off is to not release iTunes for Windows. That would be a big bummer.
