Restore MP3s from Windows iPod
Hey everybody. My hard drive crashed, but fortunately all my MP3s were on my iPod. But now I don't know how to get them all off the ipod! Help!

Ephpod has an option to restore files from the iPod to the PC. It uses the tags to rebuild a directory structre and re-name all the files. Works a treat. My laptop HD also died 4 days after I got my iPod (lucky I'd backed up all my docs the night before to the iPod!)
There are two steps:
1st Go to Configure EphPod and check the input box "Naming Convention for Copied Songs". I use %a\%l\%n_%t.mp3 to name my files.
2nd Select all the songs in the lower half of the screen, and right click. Last option should be "Copy Songs to Directory". This will rebuild all your MP3s on your PC.

And if you don't use ephpod... then if you dowload ephpod and formatt your ipod you'll lose all your songs and you won't have a backup.

At the top of this section there is a sticky message on how to recover using XPlay, ephPOD and MC 9. Check it out. http://www.ipodlounge.com/forums/showthread.php?s=&threadid=4719
