Newbie: iPod naming

I have changed the name of my ipod to "RASTAPOD", which is fine. But, is there a way to have that name show up on the ipod display?
Also, has anyone painted or customized the case of their pod? If so, how did you do it? I want mine to be rasta colored (reg, green, yellow, & black) :D !!!

unfortunately, when you change the name of your ipod, it only shows up like that in programss. nothing i've seen is able to change the name displayed on the ipod itself. i can't imagine ALL THAT hard... i mean there's a file that houses all the OS/info, just need a program that can edit it...

I tried to "christen" my iPod in EphPod, and it does show up as the new name in the program, however it doesn't show up in the about page of the iPod itself.

Also, it seems that whenever I try to rechristen the name, I get an error that states:

Exception EAccessViolation in module Ephpod.exe at FFFFF013. Access violation at 00000013. Write of adress 12C47AC0.

Is this why the name won't show up on the iPod? And what the heck is it? I never get any other errors from EphPod.

Thanks.

Sorry to double post:

I decided to bypass using Ephpod as a way to name my 'pod. Instead I simply renamed the drive in Windows. I'm still not sure why Ephpod was acting wonky though, but it's something I can definitely live with.

Problem not entirely solved, but worked around. :D

So when you renamed the drive in windows, does the new name show up in the "About" menu on the ipod?

I used MMJB to rename my iPod
