ipod_control folder?

I have a windows 20 GB iPod and use Xplay. I have these folders and they have duplicates of my songs.
iPod_control
_trashes
____HFS+ Private Data

Can I delete them?

I have around 1400 songs on it that should be taking up 7GB and the iPod says I have 7GB left.
That iPod_Control folder has 11.5GB in it.

Help.

hehe, no way do you want to do that. It contains all the firmware and all your tunes.

If you want to clean things up, just do a restore, then reupload all your tunes. It's good to do periodically.

I got it fixed.
I asked Mediaplay since I am using Xplay.
Here is there response;

The iPod_Control folder is hidden as it's intended to not be deleted (or otherwise modified).

To have XPlay attempt to re-locate lost music on your iPod, please try rebuilding your iPod music database. To do this, open "My Computer", right-click on your iPod and select "XPlay". Then, click on "Rebuild the iPod Music Database".

take care,

This fixed the problem.

Thanks,
Jeff
