little warning
so im gonna order an adaptec 4300 cus you guys said it was working fine on your xp systems...
just a little warning incase you plan on buying a card.

I have tried both the belkin firewire card, and the SIIG firewire card... on a winxp machine with a 5gig ipod... and no luck connecting... and most likely its not me

yup, usually any cheapo VIA chipset based card will work fine. But that's the problem, you just never know. If folks are looking for an inexpensive card, I recommend that they just get one, making sure they can return it if it doesn't work.I use mine for Digital Video as well, and I want a top notch card for that. I've seen my OrangeMicro drop frames from time to time, so I want something better.
Oh, the shipping is 5-9 days. Probably come quicker...but it depends on where you live I guess.

Well I bought this 1g ipod from some guy, and it stopped working for 2 weeks after the first day... then i finally brought it to life... and now the firewire port isnt working... so i think i deserve my money back...darkpiece at 2007-11-15 17:12:31 >
