Scratches on my iPod....can it be fixed?

Hi everyone,

I have a 2-month old iPod and have already managed to get it scratched... It didn't take much as I have been very careful. Is this a common problem - the glass being that "delicate"?

Is there any way I can repair this myself, and for the future try to avoid more of them (for instance, a protective film, like screen protectors for PDAs)?

Thanks in advance for any replies.

Regards,
Nubben

Try this. It has worked for a number of people on the board.

I used a cloth dipped into a VERY SMALL amount of Brasso. Wiped in circles, then polished off with another soft cloth (Following Mr Miyagi's advice to Daniel San ;)

It worked really well and removed the nasty scratches that my iPod had when it came out of its box (How gutted was I).

They key factor is to use tiny amounts of Brasso and lots of gentle buffing. If you overdo the Brasso or the pressure it is possible to actually add fresh scraches to the screen yourself ;-)

Good luck,
