Ge3 iPod for Windows98SE
I have Win98SE installed on my computer and I'm trying to use USB 1.1 just as the manual says it's compatible. I tried running the Apple programme (setup.exe) but I don't get a message to click "next" like other people are. It's going right through the Installshield and prompting me with a picture of the iPod with options to "Install" or "Exit." I've tried searching for the updater file trying to install it multiple ways but I can't ever find the Updater file everyone's talking about.
Maybe I'm going about it wrong. Could someone give me detailed or plain directions on how to get my computer to recognize my iPod?
Thanks,
Charlie

you can use a g3 ipod on win98se only after formatting it to fat32 on a xp, me or 2000 machine (preferably xp). g3 ipods come as mac pods (hfs+). windows doesn?t recognise them until they?re in the fat32 mode.
