Safely removing an iPod under windows 98

Hi, i only have windows 98 and using a new 15gb 3G iPod i am merrily transferring songs to my iPod via USB2 but i have no idea how to safely remove my iPod. Any suggestions?

Click on the Safely Remove Hardware icon. It looks like this:
