Ipod questions

First off the ipod looks so cool, so naturaly i bought a 15gb from buy.com fpr 375. I have two questions though---1st--does the iPod come with a iPod to wall outlet charfer to charge it without a laptop---2nd--if i am try to put a CD onto my ipod do i have to load the entire CD to my computer then transfer it to the iPod or can i just go from CD to iPod.

Welcome to the lounge!!You, my friend, have alot to learn, but I was in the same boat not all that long ago, don't worry about it, you'll get there, and you came to the right place...
First of all, you can't charge through your laptop--you need a powered firewire card to do this, the laptop firewire cards don't charge...So the answer is yes, it does come with a charger.
You have to convert your CD's to either AAC or MP3 before you send them over to your ipod--ripping and encoding--I would strongly recommend you check out the faqs here in the forums, and then fire away any questions you have--there are tons of people here that can help you out--but start in the faqs first; it will make your life much easier, happier, healthier and fulfilling:D !
