Boot OS from iPod?

Hey,
I was wondering if it is at all possible to boot say, windows XP FROM the ipod. My guess is no since the drivers have to be loaded with the bios or something. That would be so cool, take oyur computer with you. Could you not use MS prompt or somehting?

If your motherboard supports booting from firewire (many new ones do), then I would think it should be possible. I am scared that you might have to reformat your iPod in such a way that it would lose the ability to play music - turning it into just a portable hard drive.

It seems to work. My mate said he got *nix to boot, but i have yet to see ;)

it works on macs for sure, so it's probably possible with Pc's, and I don't think it would remove the ability to play music...

Ya because when you go and setup windows XP you can tell it to leave the current partition intact and not reformat it.
