DO NOT DISCONNECT message problem

Sorry if this has been posted before but I'm new...
I connected my new ipod 30 gB to my laptop with XP home and now the ipod won't stop flashing do not disconnect no matter what i do. Is there a reset button or series I can overide this with.

The "do not disconnect" message is supposed to keep flashing as long as iPod is "mounted" or connected to your computer. It's nothing to be worried about. To "unmount" or disconnect iPod, simply right click on the safely remove hardware icon, or your iPod manager icon, in your system tray. Hope this helps.

It looks like a little green arrow. Bottom right hand corner of your screen.

Don't be sorry, be happy-you've got iPod! It's next to the clock.

found it, but it doesn't give me an ipod option. Only asks if i want to remove my DVD drive. Where would i find the ipod manager icon in the "system tray".

The iPod manager icon looks like a mini iPod. It should be right next to the safely remove hardware icon.

You should try downloading ephpod instead. www.ephpod.com
And check out this thread. http://www.ipodlounge.com/forums/showthread.php?s=&threadid=1953

Btw. have you finished installing the software? Cause if you have, there should definitely be an iPod manager icon.

Are you gettin anywhere, man?

You won't "breaK" the iPod by not unmounting it first. You could corrupt the HDD though, causing you to have to restore the iPod.

Interesting that the safely remove isn't showing up a drive to remove. Are you left clicking the icon? Do that.

Also, make sure that you enable firewire disk mode in iPod Manager.

I've got just an apple icon on the pod now with none of the controls working. It seems as if my computer does not recognize the pod.
