OK, Im confused

Now, I thought that AAC was not supported by WiniPods? Wasn't that what was supposed to be included in the 1.3 WiniPod update? I've read up on all these threads about transfering AACs to the WiniPod...so how is that possible if the Pod isn't supposed to support it yet?

There is officially no WiniPod 1.3 update. The 1.3 update is for mac gen2 iPods only. The 1.3 update for WiniPods (in theory) should give AAC support to the WiniPod to windows users can use the iTunes music store when it comes availble for windows at the end of the year.

So, if you want AAC right now, then you better get a mac!

The 1.3 firmware was extracted from the mac os 9 updater and put in a windows updater, so 1.3 is (unofficially) available for PCs.
Can't give you the link because it breaks the holy rules of this forum.... but search google or www.hydrogenaudio.org for the url.
You must be aware that this update is in no way endorsed by apple and probably voids the warranty, so it's at your own risks.....

That's it for the explanation
