Cant Get Firewire Card To Work

No matter what I try I just get the yellow ! in the device manager telling me that it was unable to start? I am at a loss.
Its says IEEE 1394 Bus host controllers and then under that
OHCI Compliant IEEE 1394 Host Controller
Can anyone help?

Try a couple of things:

1. Unistall the firewire card from Device Manager. Then reboot and let windows reinstall the drivers for it.

2. If that fails, try switching the PCI slot the card is in in your PC.

Thanks for the suggestions,
I tried both things that you mentioned and nothing works. I just cant firgure it out, I'm running windows 2000. Anymore suggestions. Its weird sometimes it see it as a Texus Instruments Card and then other times not..I'm very confused. Are there any other settings that might need to be adjusted or are these cards just plug in and go. I read something about having to adjust BIOS settings?

Anyone, I'm losing my mind over here...Can the whole VIA chipset have anything to do with having a firewire card that gives a code 10 error message saying unable to start. I have searched high and low for drivers, you name it.

right click and go to properties.
Then go to the drivers tab.
Click 'update drivers'
Keep Clicking next until you see 'choose the best available driver'
(it is something like that)

Windows should now detect ur card.

I dunno, but this worked for me!

Hope that Helps,
