Gen help req. MM 2 XPlay

Hi,

Apologies for the preamble, but it might help to understand where I am coming from.

The wife bought me a new iPod as a present - Yay! - took it into work where most of my music is - great day showing off new pod. Installed MMJB, iPod software etc all went fine. Transferred all music to the pod, still fine.

4PM discover company is going through another round of redundancies. Balls, now on the job market again ;(

This leaves me with the problem that I have my iPod full of music, but cannot sync it to the the original machine (ie the one that was in my former office).

What problems would I face if I install the software on my home PC (Win 98SE) and connect the pod?

I need to sort out the tags on most of my music as - for obvious reasons - I hadn't planned on transferring it in quite such a hurry. I have all my familiar music, but it is messiliy tagged.

If I install Xplay on my home machine will it be able to recognise the files that MMJB put there? Will it allow me to copy my music off the iPod to fix the tags etc?

I would appreciate any thoughts before I mess around with it, because at the moment at least I do have all my songs on my iPod. I just can't do anything with them - and boy is it a mess.

Any thoughts gratefully appreciated.

You should be able to pull the tunes off of you iPod with ephpod, which will enable you to get the songs off for each cd, and then you can use ephpod or xPlay to do the syncing.
