Question regarding playing music while Docked.

I just got my new 3rd Gen. 30gb iPod and it's working pretty well so far. I had one question though.

I would like to be able to set the iPod in the Dock while I'm sitting at my desk and listen to music through the Dock.

Whenever I connect the iPod, the "Do Not Disconnect" message comes up, and any music that was playing stops.

Is there any way to change this so I could listen to music through the dock while it's still connected via FireWire?

yes, while its docked the little IPOD icon will appear in the systray you can right click it and a little menu will show up at the top of the menu it will say "Unmount Ipod" (replace the word ipod with the name of your ipod) then click on it and it will "unmount" your pod and you dont even have to unplug it, then when you want to synch it or something just right click on the pod icon again and hit "Mount Ipod"...its pretty elementary my dear watson...let me know how it goes

Why not use Ephpod. While docked you can just right click on a song and play it while docked.

The whole point would be to take the sound playing off of the computer :).

I'd rather use my spare CPU cycles (although, it doesn't take much to play MP3s) to crunch my DC projects.
