iPod resets when switched off for long periods
Hi all.
Had my new 10GB iPod for about a month now. I went away last week and didn't take it with me. It was fully charged when I left it and so when I came back some of the charge had gone, which was to be expected.
However, when I switched it on, I was shown the apple logo.
If my 'pod is switched off for a couple of days say, it displays this when i boot it up, as though it has reset itself. Is this normal? I know it never really switches off, only goes into sleep, but is there some kind of 'deep sleep' for the iPod if its not used for a while?
All the songs and everything remain intact, as do the playlists; I was just wondering why I get the apple icon.
MAny thanks

I am encountering the very same effect on my 40G 4G iPod. However, I don't know whether this is normal or not.

it's a feature in the ipod it goes into deep sleep after 48 hours of no use, don't worry about it, mine does the same thing, and besides you can find info about it on the apple website.

It also resets some customised settings then (like the click-sound)? It does by mine (4G 20GB). Weird...
Yup, but that appears to be a "bug" with the 4th-gen iPods, as 3rd-gen iPod owners don't have that issue.
