Since there is no hacking or firmware part of the forum and ipodhacks forums isnt working right...

I have found some interesting things in the iPod updater for windows.

Some of the things i found are like this...
Running on FireWire power.
Running on battery power.
Power status is invalid.
Running on nonexistent power.
Charger is disabled.
Charger is enabled but off.
Charger is trickle charging.
Charger is charging.
`? @Battery reading is %d (%x) E%4cF
%s Sleep the system into least power modet
Syntax: %s sleep
/a Switch to audio mode (normal)
/d Switch to disk mode
/s Switch to sleep mode (and back)
/g Switch to charging mode
/q[+-] Turn on/off hard disk
/b[+-] Turn on/off backlight
/f[+-] Turn on/off firewire
/c[+-] Turn on/off battery charging
/u[012] Set audio to off/standby/on

I dont know if you can run those from the iPod, if those are internal commands used when programming the iPod or things you can get the updater to do some how.
OMG these things are so cool!!! Some one figure it out!!! I think the iPod has something to do with C++ because I saw some entry for it. COME ON PPL!!!
