I dont mean to start debate but... PC Owners, why dont you use a Mac?

So, you've seen how great Apple is at creating software and hardware after purchasing the iPod. So, why do you still use your PC? I have been wondering this for a long time, why (some) PC iPod users seem so intent on keeping their PCs and I thought this might be the place to go to find out.

I don't want any debate or flaming over which OS is the best. Just a simple answer - PC iPod owners, why don't you use a Mac?

(Sorry if this isn't really allowed. I know debate about computing platforms isn't allowed, but this is sorta different. You can delete it if you need to.)

Okay, I don't think the poll is flame-bait; it's actually potentially interesting. But I'm going to have to say here and now that people should only answer the poll- no more discussion. It's the discussion that ends up ending in a flame war, so as long as people can vote and not discuss, I'll keep the thread open. Unfortunately, I can't set the thread to keep the poll open but prevent subsequent posts, which was on xsorbit option I liked, so I'll have to put this on the honor system. The first reply that isn't a vote in the poll and the thread gets locked. Capish?

Oy, -e,

I saw the other post first and completely closed it out. You're a braver man than I.

Since you got here first, I'm not gonna touch this post... but if I'd have seen it first, it'd be history.

Guys, PC users don't use a Mac for the same reason that Mac users don't use a PC. They just don't.

There aren't nearly enough options in this poll to cover every reason that a person may or may not use one platform or another. Even bringing it up is opening the doors for the type of flame wars that make iPodlounge an uncomfortable place for computer users in general.

Eustace is watching y'all on this'n... please keep it clean, if that's possible.

(sorry I'm in a cynical mood today again, folks. :))

So...my poll was closed and I'm accused of asking for flames and this thread stays open and the good word is that it's NOT asking for flames?

Huh?

I thought that I'd explained myself already... I closed your poll when I saw it and posted a friendly explanation with my reasons for closing it.

I saw this one second, and before I could close it, noticed that another moderator had already "stepped up" to it. Rather than overruling a fellow mod, I respected his choice to leave it open and commented.

If I'd seen this one before -e did, it'd be closed too. Nothin' personal against you at all, AMG.

Frankly, I think that this post is much greater flame-bait than the one I closed.

Heck, this post had, in one short paragraph, "you've seen how great Apple is at creating software and hardware... so, why do you still use your PC?" as well as ""PC iPod users seem so intent on keeping their PCs"

If that's not flame-bait, I don't know what is.

Cozzie, you're correct in assuming that this "isn't really allowed." If you knew that debate about computing platforms isn't allowed, why'd you start one? You say that this is "sorta different" but I disagree -- these debates are all the same, we've seen them all before, and outlawed them for a reason. Thanks.

Yeah... there wasn't any way to delete Cozzie's editorial without deleting the poll too. I really don't like the way vBulletin does polls!

AMG started his poll after I'd deleted his post in this forum, which, to me counts as a reply to this thread - a retaliatory poll if you will.

No one seems to be voting in the poll anyway, so lockety-lock!
