Timmy, you are WAY out of line there my friend. First of all, it's not a "blow up Duncan doll"; it's an "inflatable Duncan".

Second of all, Bob already owns one. I mailed one to him a long time ago. So we don't have to get each of them one. Geesh...

But the mods are awesome--kudos especially to Adam and Kurt, whose paths I frequently cross and occasionally trample...And Bob's a very cool guy too...As is Tom..Oh, what the 'ell, they're all great...

Another thread successfully tagged with an inflatable Duncan. Disregard any mods who may try and post a Monty Python quote in response to this, no matter how funny or appropriate the quote...

It's an African Inflatable Duncan. Er, no I mean it's a European Inflatable Dun...AHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHH!!!!!!!!

*splat*

(Because of the volume limits on the European Inflatable Duncan's, the "splat" is much less noisey than an American Splat, which would be more of a "SPLAT!!!!!" rather than a simple "splat".)

Wait.. you "splat" the inflatable Duncan? What's up with that? Why would you do something like that?

# 5 Re: Duncans
dmt1, to get rid of that volume limit on your European Duncan, take these steps:

Get OpenDunc, a small utility tool you can download to have access to Duncan's hidden folders and files.

Run OpenDunc, and then double click Duncan.

Inside Duncan, you'll find a manilla folder labelled (Duncan_control->device)

Open it, and inside here you'll find a file named "Limit" (It was printed on canary yellow paper. you can't miss it.)

Remove the file, and rip it shreds, while singing a Kelly Clarkson song.

Unmount your Duncan and voila, no more worries. Just watch for your ears coz now you'll get the maximum ur baby can give.

Wait a minute here, I didn't do anything to ID (inflatable Duncan). This has to do with coconuts, Grails, and killer rabbits--I had nothing to do with splatting him. For your insolence, I command you to:

BRING ME A SHRUBBERY!!

John, I did the volume limit suggestion, and now all Duncan says is "TKS, TKS, TKS" incessantly (but very loudly)....

dmt1, you may have to perform a restore with the Duncan Menswear Installer. Just plug Duncan in, and run the Installer, then choose "Restore". Fresh Menswear will be installed on Duncan, but you'll lose all your music.

Ok, I did what you said, and something went terribly, terribly wrong...Now Duncan won't wear anything but women's loungerie, and it HAS to be the lacey kind, or he just sits around and frets..Keeps saying he wants to be a Spice girl...And the volume problem is back now too...Darn.

Chris, I think you're forgetting that John is primarily used to working with Mac-Duncans. I think you have a Wi-Duncan don't you? The Restore process is a little different for those, but it's a little late for that now, since you've already done it.

You'll need to reformat Duncan now. This will strip him of pretty much all of his talents (it doesn't take long) and personality (takes even less time), and good looks (takes quite a while, all those implants ya know).

To reformat your Inflatable Duncan, purge him of all air--reinflate.

That should take care of it.

Ok, I purged him of all air. And then I was about to reinflate, but, um, the inflation device is in a rather awkward location, and I just can't bring myself, to er, blow, um air in there...Do these things come with a dock or something so I can bypass the flotation device?

No this will not void your PSP. But if you do by any chance have a "freak accident" with your Duncan and he explodes, then with your PSP you can upgrade to the new 2nd Generation Inflatable Duncan. It's pretty cool. Now it sings and dances for you.

# 28 Re: Duncans
Well if it's anything like the iPods, it looks like it's only going to be available with the 2nd gen Duncans. There are rumours floating though. But if we start a petition, we might be able to get 1.3. :)
Timmy Yak at 2007-11-15 18:36:20 >
# 29 Re: Duncans
Look, I'm not sure why you guys would want the 2nd gen inflatable Duncans when they have that huge volume limitation, but starting a petition is just moronic. You have a lot of nerve, expecting a free upgrade like that. Besides, the singing and dancing isn't all that great. He can only do the hustle while singing old Barry Manilow tunes.
caterinka at 2007-11-15 18:37:15 >
# 30 Re: Duncans
Yes but he does do an occasional Barry White tune in memorium. :(

# 31 Re: Duncans
My take: Is the company obligated to offer free inflatable Duncan firmware upgrades? No. Should they? Absolutely. Other companies, continue to offer firmware updates--take for example the Liberace and Elvis inflatables--and heck, those guys aren't even alive anymore (at least Liberace is confirmed expired).

So, I took my inflatable Duncan back to Best Buy--they didn't have any more Duncan's--all out of stock, and on back order...Hmmm, could the gen3 Duncan be on it's way? They offered me the entire Menudo collection instead...But I settled for the 30 gig J Lo model.

That explains why I can't get the Mareware Sportsconvertible to fit J Lo's backside...

You're right bob...Accessorizing my J Lo is getting too darned expenisve..It HAS to be the Ety's, and not the Ety 6's, but the Ety 4's, she won't accept anything less..On top of that, I think she broke my jack...
dmt1 at 2007-11-15 18:43:30 >
# 36 Re: Duncans
That's a typical problem with the J-Lo models Chris. It's a design flaw in the, er, jack port. On those older models they tried a different interface. The new onces have dual ports. They work much better. :D

Exactly, the Duncan is very reliable however - boots up very quickly, isn't all that loud, is always really happy with it's case and never gets tired, he's always good to go! :)

You might wanna wait for gen3 tho, it's gonna be awsome, it's rumored it's gonna have awsome features like being able to jack into other units like JLo (or other Duncans) and upload/download files

# 54 Re: Duncans
Ok TKS, now that's just getting gross. :) I say stick with the wi-dunk for now. Apple hasn't perfected their version yet, still a lot of flaws, like nappy hair and body parts are unproportionate.
Timmy Yak at 2007-11-15 19:02:41 >
# 55 Re: Duncans
But the MacDuncans come with play(boy) counts and
(X)ratings...Can't believe Apple disabled those features--they're actually there but FRIGGIN' DISABLED!! WHAT WERE THEY THINKING?? I mean MC9 would be able to use those, but noooooo Apple has to go out of their way to disable it...

Now, if Apple comes out with the 1.3 update for gen2 WinDuncans, and allows AAC so you can use Apple's AAC(Apple's Adult Club), and don't allow the play(boy)counts and (X)ratings, I'm boycotting...

And Timmy is right about the body parts being disproportionate on the Macpods--I've heard you have to buy a third shoe for the MacDuncans to keep him properly covered, and using least common denominators, that means you'll have to buy three pairs of shoes for each MacDuncan, unless you want to have an extra shoe laying around. But, on the other hand, if you only have one leg, and have the same shoe size as Duncan, you're probably better off with the MacDuncan...
