Live Journal or alternate?

I am think of starting a blog soon, I am always one step behind everyone (all my friends have blogs)... So is LiveJournal the best or is there a better substitute?

I don't journal very often, but I use LiveJournal...there is a really great Mac OS X utility called iJournal that is a stand-alone app for updating your journal. Some people seem to prefer Xanga.com for blogs, but I don't see what the big diff is from LJ.

It depends. I use Moveable Type ( http://www.moveabletype.org) and quite like it. It's far more versitile than LiveJournal, but it requires some knowledge about HTML and such.

I messed around with Moveable Type and found it was giving me too many headaches. There's a good, inexpensive Mac program called iBlog. It will even publish your blogs to .mac space if you have it.

Livejournal is great, but you gonna have to get a code of your friends otherwise it's not free.
