Um, apple accidentally posted their G5 processor specs? aka the PPC 970? The one that every mac user was drooling over?

Omg I dunno if this is true and somehow I doubt it since it seems uber powerfull but according to some other forum the new mac G4 are in computer terms about:

3800mhz~5100mhz for the 1,8GH

and

4280mhz~5700mhz x2= 8560mhz~11400mhz for the dual 2GH!!

OMG!

it all depends on what you?re trying to do with the computer, tks. it doesn?t make too much sense to try to convert the performance specs of macs and pc?s. generally i think we can agree that, if those are the specs of the next g5?s, we all want one! :D

edit: i gotta hit the books again; and that on a friday night. :(

well lately I've not been using my pc for gaming anymore alot (barely at all actually) so I suppose I'd mainly be using it for photoshop, surfing, watching dvd's and video's and music, and maybe some video editing and maybe some 3d stuff (trying to get into that)

tho im sure unreal tourney 2003 would be hella fun on that thing, id run like mad im sure!:D

That looks pretty #### nice. I would never get a mac for home PC though. Not now... ARGH I WANT A MAC RIGHT NOW !!!! The Alienware Media Center PC is pretty #### cool to; 200GB 3Ghz and it has a remote. I want a apple labtop at some point. You know the really small one.

All in all I think we can agree on one thing. That is going to be a lot of bang for the buck. I'm a PC user and I would love to have a mac, but it costs so much less for me to use a PC now. I'm not creating a platform war or nothing, however, we can all agree that you can get a lot of performance for little cash with a PC compared to an apple. Prime example is the eMac. It would be nice if they geared a mac line that catered to the home market besides the iMac. Let's say a 300-700 dollar tower that was comparable to lets say a computer with an AMD Athlon XP based system. I would love to run a mac like that along with my windows rig.

I think that is were apple might be missing the point and why they have only 5% of the market. I would love to have the new power mac G5 when it comes out next week or so, mainly for the fact of OSX. That reason right there is why I want to get an apple computer. Man that OS is pretty awesome. The one thing OSX has over XP and that man that shizzle is pretty fizzle nizzle!

Oh well we can all just wait for marklar to come out or whatever. Man that would be a great way for Jobs to get back at Gates. Bring OS X to the x86 platform. I would rush to get that the new Harry Potter book. I can imagine it now (insert day dream sequence music now)

I turn on my computer and the apple logo pops up and says, "Hi Todd, would you like me to start Windows XP or Jaguar?" I select the OSX logo and off I go, running iPhoto, iTunes, etc... checking my email and knowing my system is fully protected. Then I realize I have to work in Windows for some stuff and I click on the Windows icon and I frown because microsoft money, is not for OSX and I can't afford office X. so I finish my work and have to restart my computer so I can get in to OSX.

(insert end of day dream sequence music now)

Oh well we can all dream can't we?
