ipod dead w/ Folder & Caution Symbol HELP!

I recently bought a brand new 10GB ipod from ebay and began downloading playlists onto it w/no problems. However, it has suddenly stopped working, and only shows a folder with a caution symbol on the screen and Musicmatch Jukebox no longer recognizes it. I have followed the suggested repair techniques on apple.com (reset and reload) with no results. Anyone else come across this problem? Any suggestions?

I had success with one that had the same symptoms. Even if MusicMatch doesn't recognize it, Ipod updater might.Try doing the Ipod Updater. Especially the newer version (as if you were doing a firmware update). Download the newer Ipod updater if you only have the old one & it doesn't work. Let me know if it works. Bangeray10@cs.com

I had the same problem (Window XP, Firewire). I had to reinstall all of the software, and reformat the Ipod to get it to work. Then it happened again. I bought the USB 2.0 interface, and haven't had any more problems.
