Thinking about returning Ipod to Apple store, but wanted advice first....
As we all know, the 3rd generation ipods are loaded with bugs. On top of this, the Mac case that came with my ipod has left some serious scratches on my screen (so much so, that I can?t make out the individual cards on solitaire). So I figured that since i am having so many firm wear problems, that I could go to my local apple store and attempt to pick up a new one. If anyone has more information about this or has done this before, your help would be greatly appreciated. My REAL gripe is that my ipod is completely scratched from leaving it in the supplied apple case. I cannot believe that apple would supply this thing knowing that it would destroy my 400-dollar investment. Anyway, i just wanted to get your guys input before i drive 45 minutes to my closest apple store. Thanks again..

I doubt they would give you a new iPod just because of "bugs" or firm "wear" probs. All 3rd gens have/had bugs. And the scratches are part of the deal. The iPod has a really fragile surface that needs to be protected by a good case right out of the box...

Yeah, but I agree with phatboy about the case. Apple supplies these cases and they scratch the iPods abominably. They should not be supplying an accessory that ruins an expensive product. I had a 2nd gen. with the Apple case and I finally realized after using it for some time that they had sewn a tag *inside* the case that scratched the back of the pod every time you pulled it out. That's just stupid and isn't covered by warranty.

How does the Apple case scratch the IPOD? I've been using the case regularly and don't see any scratches. Where should I look?
Thanks,
