Ipod doesnt power up!

I couldn't find any topics relating to this so i have created a new one, and i don't have much time before i go on holiday and would like to get my Ipod sorted before i go.

I have a 20g v1 Ipod for windows running win2k, i left it connected to my computer over night while i was downloading something so that it could charge the ipod. I woke up this morning to find that the "unplug and stop external drive" window had popped up saying i had removed the drive without stopping it, and my ipod was turned off. Now i cannot start up my ipod at all.

Does anyone have any advise or help what so ever as i really wanna get it sorted before i go on holiday.
