Inspiration for Playlists?
Hello there. I was wondering what Playlists you got on your iPods! What names do you use, what mood, which songs? Strangely, I kind of get a kick out by other peoples ways to sort music.

Well first off I got a list for All Songs [well nearly all] then I have a playlist for Classical music and one for Jazz. I am still [re]ripping my cd collection again but when I am finished I will prolly also make a list with female singers pop/rock/easy music [prolly with Sarah McLachlan, Shea Seger, Ilse DeLange, Norah Jones, Anouk, Melissa Etheridge, Sass Jordan, The Corrs, The Cranberries, Michelle Branch, Avril Lavigne, Jennifer Love Hewitt, and more] ??I love to hear female singers, doh!! I won't make a list with male singers, they will just show up in my All Songs playlist.
Then I also will listen alot to full albums, shuffled or not but that I will manually select.

As I listen mostly all day at work I like to rotate my tunes. So I have an 8 hour smartlist that excludes certain genres and certain albums from by library, and only includes tunes rated 2 or better. But the best part is that it only includes songs I haven't heard in the last 2 weeks, so I can re-sync every night and get a fresh batch of tunes for the next day. My entire library is rotated essentially every 2 weeks. :D
Then, I have the New Stuff (tunes I recently imported), and genre based ones.

All those female Vocalists godcha, & no mention of Heather Nova, Kristen Hersh, Tanya Donnelly, Elizabeth Fraser, Throwing Muses & the Cocteau Twins!...
For shame! ;)

The majority of my lists are ratings based. Either ratings and artist or ratings and genre. I also use a lot of time limitations/play counts to keep things fresh.
Some fun ones involve using a single word from the song title. 'Love' is a popular choice but there are tons of others [scan your own library for ideas] that result in some interesting mixes.
