3rd Gen connector ?
Greets,
Does anyone know what type of connector the one on the bottom of the 3rd gen iPod is?
Or, where can I purchase the connector side that's in the dock half of the connector? (just the connector, not the wire, nor entire dock)
I think it has 30 pins.

as far as I know, its a custom one created by apple... Your best bet would be to buy a firewire cable, and cut the wire in half... You could also buy a usb/firewire one and cut the wire you don't need... if you screw up, you still have a functional cable...

I know but someone has to make it or knows who make it or the type of connector it is. Every other accessory has it. I called them and it was pretty interesting how they responded to me.
I told them flat out I was trying to make a custom cable and they got real shady on me. To do what, no it's a propietary cable and a manufacturer was subcontracted to make them, blah, blah ...
They told me they can't tell me who's the manufacturer.
I was hoping to build something clean from scratch. :(
I like that Bob Marley song in your quote. Checkout "Smile Jamaica" if you already haven't.
thanks
