Belkin battery pack - Total time?

What's the estimated (or maybe someone has some experience?) battery time for the Belkin battery pack used together with the iPod internal battery? Over 20 hours? It says 15-20 hours, does it mean 15-20 hours extra or that much in total..?

Hi Nim,
The 15-20 hours mark is what you can expect to reach if you use a fully charged internal battery along with the Battery Backup. I've gotten almost 20 hours out of that combination before. That was during a long trip where I kept the backlight turned off, and just let the playlists rotate. Keep your backlight off as much as possible, that should significantly add to your battery life.

Wired-
I just checked out the ipodlounge.com review of the belkin pack, and was somewhat dettered by it. You may want to check it out before you purchase. As we all know though, this solution is the best out there. Good luck with it!

Ya, just use energizer lithum batteries. God they are expensive but I get almost 40 hrs with a full iPod. Usually about 35~hrs.

Energizer Lithium? You are talking about ordinary AA batteries for use with the battery adapter or what? Are they rechargable? How expensive?

Here ( http://www.batterymart.com/battery.mv?p=EVR-L91BP-2)

These batteries are not rechargeable but they have a very good shelf life as well as being more powerful than standard alkaline batteries.

Product is currently unavailable :(

I'd like to get one, but not for $70USD, but $40USD would be attractive, though still a bit pricey IMHO.

I purchased the Belkin battery pack about two weeks ago from my local (southen California) Best Buy. My memory is far from perfect but I think I paid 39.95. Don't know if pricing in Vancouver would be comparable or not.

I just bought some of those lithium energizer batteries from my local radio shack. $13.99 for a 4 pack in manhattan. I will be using them later this week on a flight from JFK - Sydney. I'll be sure to report back on their performance with the belkin battery pack. Thanks for the tip.
