An iTrip Replacement.. Audio Bug!
I saw this in PC World: The Audio Bug! (http://www.aerielle.com/). It looks pretty cool. Does anyone here have it?
Some review quotes:
Overall, I am very impressed with the performance of the AudioBUG. It is cute, does what it says it will do, and is easy to operate.
So, uses for this little gadget? You bet! This should be a god send to all you MP3 buffs out there. It's time to start really using that new iPod you just saved up to buy. While an FM transmitter is really nothing new to the market, I think now is a great time to see a resurgence of such an item. I mean, remember that microphone you could sing into as a kid that would go over the FM radio. How annoying was that? The AudioBug however, has great potential to connect sound devices wirelessly via FM radio where it probably isn't possible without great wiring skills, or just plain impossible to do.

MacAddict gave it a zero. "We really wanted to like it..."

Never mind, I'm thinking of something completely different, which was a suction cup that could be stuck to a window and turn the window into a speaker. Everyone else is discussing an FM transmitter. Sorry.

If I was getting a battery powered device, I sure wouldn't get one that required CR2 sized cells, I'd much rather something that had AA or AAA so I could use rechargables. Also, the site is completely sparse for info, like how many stations does it do? All of them or just some fixed number?

DOn't bother. If you look at the pics, it only does 88.1, 3, 5, and 7. I already have one that does that acceptably, but it's still a pain to use. These channels are for the most part not clear for me. The one I have overpowers any of the 4 for about 1 or 2 hours. Then it's really weak.
CR2 batteries? Hate to meet the poor schmuck that buys one of these not knowing what that is and how expensive they are.
**move along, nothing to see here...**

I went to their site and followed the 'special low, low price for CR2' batteries. Catch this:
Our CR2 4-pack of batteries_will provide 160+ plus hours of continuous music._4-pack only $12.99 USD
Yikes! Even if the 'brand-x' that uses AA's gets 10 hours per battery, think how many AA's you can buy for 12.99 (not including whatever shipping/handling they want to charge!). I recently bought 2 40 packs of AA's for 10 bucks each. And we needn't mention the alternative of rechargables.
