Is Belkin Auto Charger With 3.5mm Output...
...have the same quality output as the line out on the dock will have? Or is it just like the headphone output? Also, if I use that output on the Belkin for a cassette adapter will the volume control on the Belkin be bypassed? Anyone with this unit or knowledge of it please clarify. Thanks all. I use the Belkin with a cassette adaptor; what's nice about the level control on the Belkin is that I can match the volume of the iPod to the volume of the radio, so I don't blast my ears when switching back and forth. (Not really an answer to your question, but since we are both using a cassette adaptor rather than an aux-in jack, any other audio quality losses are probably insignificant.)

I don't know if it is the same quality of the lineout in the dock but the Belkin output sounds much, much, much better then the headphone jack. Imagine the headphone jack is an audio casette and the Belkin is a CD.

I will answer this the best that I can.
I have found the line out to be just as good as the one on the unit itself. Makes since since it feed from the firewire port.
When you use the line out on the Belkin the volume is controlled by the Belkin and the vehicle that you are in and also can be controlled by the iPod itself if you have the soundcheck turned off. So it can be really confusing.
I currently use the cassette method myself until the item(s) I ordered to make a better installation in my car show up.
Hope this helps out some
