Maybe it is down to problems with production?
They may be slow due to wanting to get their product right first time unlike Apple who rush out the new iPod with glitches galore aboard?
These are small companies who have to design, develop then source manufacturers if they have to - there are more spokes in the wheel apart from the company who is selling them.
Now this is not meant as a defence of any company, but look how long it took for us lowly original iPod users to get even a decent range of accessories.
Did you see us making a song and dance because ABC hasn't shipped yet?
No, we had more important things to moan about............;)

Have you lost any money? Do you still have an order in?
If you do, then show your displeasure and take your business somewhere else.
Or you can give them a break and hope they ship soon.
