iCleaner or Ice Creme to clean iPod?
I was just wondering if I could get a review from somone who has used either of these products on their iPod. If you have some before and after pictures that would be great too.
Here are the links to the two products:
radtech ice creme (http://www.radtech.us/icecreme.html)
iCleaner (http://www.ipodcleaner.com/)
Basically I want to clean my pod really well, then slap the iSkin on to keep it prestine. Any help would be appreciated.

hmph guess no one has an opinion?
# 2 Re: iCleaner or Ice Creme to clean iPod?
i've heard of pretty good things about the icleaner, but none so far for ice creme...
# 3 Re: iCleaner or Ice Creme to clean iPod?
I did a search and read a bunch of posts in the old forum, none mention ice creme, but there were many instances of people using iCleaner. Looks like iCleaner works well on the front plastic but the iCleaner Pro doesn't do all that much for the back of the iPod. Nice to see that I am not the only crazy when it comes to keeping my pod clean though ;) Some people have used brasso, toothpaste, and all kinds of other things. I was more hoping for somone who has used ice creme though, because these are the two products I am deciding between, and it seems as though there are some dissatified people out there who have used iCleaner.

try ice creme. seriously, i'm anxious to hear whether it works or not. Most people probably have never heard of it. Also, some people say ____ doesn't work because they aren't using it correctly. When you use these type of polishes, you should never use too much and always polish it in small circles.
# 5 Re: iCleaner or Ice Creme to clean iPod?
These are all probably very similar to Displex which is a very fine plastic polish good for polishing out scratches on cell phone displays and the like.
Many people have used it on the iPod (including myself) with good results.
It costs about $5.
But if you want to buy some $12-$20 crap knock yourself out.

Where can I buy displex? As well what do you use to get the scratches out of the metal on the back?
Mike
# 7 Re: iCleaner or Ice Creme to clean iPod?
Displex works on the front (quite well) and the back (well enough for government work). I think if you do a search at shopping.yahoo.com or ebay you will find tons of people selling Displex.

have you tried it on the back yourself? does it produce any swirls or minor scratches after application? Also, Displex is a plastic polish, does it really work on the chrome metal?

I emailed Radtech a list of questions I had before I bit the bullet and bought their product. I mentioned that I was guinea pigging this one and they have offered to send me a free evaluation set. I think this is great!! I will post some pictures and a review up on here and answer any question anyone has about the radtech ice creme when I recieve it.

Oh an update.
I recieved the product just the other day, I haven't had time to check it out bacause I work full time and I have been ordering some iSkin cases. I plan to test it out this weekend. I don't have a tonne of scratches, what I am most intersted in is how well it cleans the back. After I test it out I would be willing to ship it to somone else for free to try for themselves, as long as they contribute a review of some kind. Look for my review soon.

I received my ICleaner last week. It seemed a little expensive for what it is. I ordered the Pro package. They send you instructions, a green towel, a green latex glove, a tube of Icleaner and a small lip-gloss-sized jar of ICleaner Pro.
The Icleaner Pro worked OK on the back. I have one scratch on the back that's been bothering me, and it's not deep, but the Icleaner Pro didn't do anything to it. I'm going to try it a few more times to see what happens.
I'll recommend using these products with two rubber gloves, because if you want your Ipod to really shine, getting fingerprints on it won't help. I'm waiting for my ISkin to arrive (Stupid Iskin.com!) and I'll spend a good amount of time getting my Ipod scratch-free and into it's protective case for good. Once I do that, I'll write an update in here to let you all know how it goes.
# 15 Re: iCleaner or Ice Creme to clean iPod?
Well I am not happy with my icleaner at all... it says for the first time do it 6 times... well I did it how it told me to do it 12 times and still it has only got out half of the VERY small scratches.(you know the one's that you have to get in just the right light to see) It did not do anything to my one not very small scratch that is has on it. I will spend like 3 hours on that scratch before I put it in my soon to be iSee 3g. I want my 10 bucks back and my my hour or so back... o yea and if you through in my sanity in with it that would be good also.
# 16 Re: iCleaner or Ice Creme to clean iPod?
I agree with iCleaner being a waste of money. The deep scratch "remover" (ha! ) didn't do anything to the scratches on the back of my iPod (thankfully there aren't many). On the front of my iPod, the standard iCleaner didn't remove any scratches at all. In fact, the iCleaner actually LEFT MORE SCRATCHES on my screen (yes, I used a terry cloth towel, as directed)! I ended up having to use Brasso to undo the damage done by iCleaner!
Conclusion: iCleaner is a waste of money, stay away. Brasso works great on the front to remove scratches, and only costs $2-$3 at a Wal-Mart near you.
# 17 Re: iCleaner or Ice Creme to clean iPod?
I am glad I am not the only person mad at then but can i get a second opinion about the Brasso? Not that I don't trust you (I trust you more than the people who say that the icleaner S*** works) ,but I don't want to F*** up my ipod

# 20 Re: iCleaner or Ice Creme to clean iPod?
So, vanillamike, have you had time to use the product yet? i'm anxiously awaiting your review so I can decide between a few different products. Hope to read your review here soon.

Reviewed it back in August actually the stuff is pretty sweet, it works very well on the front. As for the back not as good at getting out scratches but sure brings back the shine.

Ok, cool. Thanks!
# 23 Re: iCleaner or Ice Creme to clean iPod?
if you are wondering how woill ICE CREME from RadTech (www.radtech.us/icecreme.html) works. let me tell you:
yesteday i received my icecreme. It came in a box with two bottles - A and B. I started using the B (soft abbrasive bottle) and was amazed because it was helping my iPods acrylic face since the beginning. Mi ipod had some scratches that were not ripped by bottle B (You know, i use it every day, several hours on the road and at work).
So, according to the instructions, I applied bottle A (strong abbrasive). Man! it is strong with scratches but gentle with the iPod!!! After some time polishing and applying the ice creme B bottle, the appereance improve lots. Believe me, lots...
In my opinion this is one of the best products for "Falling again in love" with your iPod... last night i spend some other time polishing and cleanning my dear ipod and honestly it looks almost as new now...
definitely... if you buy ice creme youll be very happy with its results...
PD: i also received yesterday the Macclear case for my ipod... believe me again: its the second accesory i would suggest ypu for falling again in love with your dear ipod, it looks like NEW and its beauty really shines through MaClear case (will is protected from the "ROUGH world that is outhere"...)
