Oo Im 90% sure Marware makes one.

I cant confirm though.
I've seen one in my local dealer, and they only sell Marware.

I wouldnt suggest this though, if you get water in the firewire port you're screwed.

hmm looks like I will need to build one. One Im interested in would be made of water tight plexiglass...you know something that would be somewhat comparable to an underwater casing for digital cameras.

Yes the only problem I would forsee would be the headphone plug/wire.

naw should be easy enough. Essentially the headphone/wire jack would be a static fixture of the casing, ones thats already water tight.

How do you listen to headphones in the rain or water? Wouldn't they short out or zap you or something?

There must be away. It's just that no one has ever thought about it before, and then, someone will discover the srecret behind this.

I was thinking of a way, but i'm sure that it wouldn't work.

Gunner has a good point... how are you going to listen in the water anyways?

I think you would want a water proof case if you were on a boat or sitting on a dock or something. I don't think anyone plans to use it for swimming or anything.

I would like to have the security of a water proof case, say u were to go out on the lake in a boat, or even lay out next to the pool n e kind of splash or the actual event of the ipod takin a dive is heart stopping.. if there were such case i personally would be interested. And as far as headphones and such, i know they make marine speakers (water proof) for boats i dont see why it would be so difficult to make marine headphones..

Links for waterproof cases-

Now, you may need to figure a way to get the 'phones connected if a waterproof port isn't already fitted. The Armor 3600 (http://www.armorbyotter.com/3600.cfm) has "portals for printer, GPS, other cable connections" so maybe headphones could be used? Mind you it makes your iPod look a bit like an Archos Jukebox!

For splashes, the Maclear would probably be the quickest option. Or perhaps just a zip-lock baggie.

Again the problem would be the port for the headphones. I wonder if they make water-resistant headphones..hummm.

Like I said, this company offers waterproof bags with a baffle for the wire (as in, the headphone wire can be routed to the outside through a watertight baffle), as well as waterproof headphones.

well they do look good, but i would prefer a custom designed instead of a premade and store bought.

Would like to save as much as posssible because the iPod 30gig is 750$ in my currency which is canadian.

A friend of mine does custom water proof housings for water sports. (www.impactsportsmedia.com - look at custom applications) He is making one for my camcorder and I am thinking about having him help me make a sweet one for my iPod. Probably be acrylic with rubber seals. I may do a custom headphone mount with the leads running through the acrylic so it is a complete seal, just plug in your waterproof headphones and go. (Just make sure you like your playlist cause you won't have control to change I guess.) Email me if you are interested in this. I'd like to see how many people would be into it.
