itrip station finder
so what's the deal with this thing? and why the hell is it only for macs?
at any rate, how does it do what it's supposed to do exactly? i can't imagine it being something you install on your ipod, however, im wondering why there is only a program for macs. if all it does is list low frequency stations, city to city, why even both with a program.
im probably wrong and it is something that you have to install on to your ipod, who the hell knows anymore...
so anyone use this thing in boston and want to post their results?

# 1 Re: itrip station finder
Well, I do not have a mac, so I cannot see this app, but according to the "comment" thread on the home page of ipodlounge, looks like just a database of cities and the best frequencies.
Of course, since it is mac only, it is not much use for me (I only run windows).
Can anyone give me the frequencies for Denver and Colorado Springs?
Thanks
Dan
# 2 Re: itrip station finder
if its just a list... why didnt they just post them on a site instead of making a program for it. What's the point?
# 3 Re: itrip station finder
If anyone has this program, can they list the frequencies for the Bay Area California (in particular Fremont, CA)
# 4 Re: itrip station finder
How good can this Itrip need if it requires a listing of available stations?
# 5 Re: itrip station finder
How difficult would it be for someone with a Mac to post the station list for all cities? Us PC people are out of luck.

# 6 Re: itrip station finder
Using the program, I got these results:
Boston, MA:
88.5
89.3
94.9
98.1
102.1
102.9
103.7
106.1
106.3
Denver, CO:
88.1
89.7
93.7
97.7
101.5
103.9
104.7
105.5
106.3
Colorado Springs, CO:
92.5
93.3
93.5
93.7
93.9
94.7
101.5
102.3
103.1
Fremont, CA:
88.1
93.7
96.9
103.3
Oh, and it is a MASSIVE list, so I think it'd be better to make a program... Plus, you can view it offline.
update: There are 238 cities listed, and to expect someone to post all of them is hard to do.

Hey Impulse, thanks a TON for listing my city! Haha, I'm not getting an iTrip, but it helped with me Gruv-x! Thanks again!!!!
# 8 Re: itrip station finder
thanks so much for posting the Denver and COS listings. I really appreciate the effort you made.
Interesting that the station I've been using in those locations is not on the list. Maybe the quality will get even better!

Personally, I thought a db of vCards, one for each city, would be even better. Then you could load as many as you need into the iPod if you're going on a trip. Obviously you'd not need your home city one, that you'd have picked beforehand. Don't know if a Windows iPod does vCards though, does it?

I have the windows version of the software, if anyone would like it... It isnt released due to the fact that they cant find an icon for it, but i have the icon-less version of it.

# 16 Re: itrip station finder
thanks a million mani!
I'd like the Windows version of the program, too.
They can't find an icon for it? That is a pitifully sad excuse, I have to say. my God, boys, someone send 'em an icon. sheesh.
