Last Word on Sony Aux Adapter
Here is what I found for my Sony. Judging by the lack of responses I got I'm guessing that there are not too many Sony car stereo/iPod owners out there.
Anyways, if you are one...
I purchased the Sony XA-300 through a friend who works at a stereo store. Got it for $75.00, listed at Crutchfield for $99.00. It's a 5"x7"x1" box with all sorts of RCA ins and outs, headphone jack (with volume) and USB. Find an appropriate spot for install and hook up connections. Works great.
Plus or minus (depending on your thinking). No extra screw holes or tabs to make mount permanent. You get some velcro to attach. Sony recommends under the passenger seat. I slid it under the cup holders in my Caravan. A permanent hookup would be nice to deter thieves, but then again if they really want it they are going to get it. So I may just pull it out and pop it in at will. We'll see. Actually with cup holders extended the unit is pretty obscured.
If anybody has any ideas how to make a better hookup let me know.

Well I don't have the unit yet, but my car has an FM Modulated cd changer which the pervious owner velcroed the modulater on top of the head unit. I don't know if it would fit on top of everycars head unit but it may work for mine, in a 96 Eclipse.
You don't need to have permanet access to it right? why not just throw it somewhere behind the dashboard and run the stereo plug out from somewhere?

Ya know somethin"? That is a really good idea! When i had part of the dash out I saw a space where it would more than likely fit!
I'll have to take it apart this week and do that.
Sometimes the simplest things are starin' you right in the face.
Thanks!

Big Izz,
Took most of my dash apart and couldn't find a big enough spot. After much searching I velcro'd/duct-taped it under the carpeting in an out of the way spot that makes it completely invisible. Should be sufficient in my semi-high crime neighborhood (car breakins etc).
Now just gotta track down the cheapest cell phoe holder and save a few bucks for a Belkin cigarette adapter and I'll be golden.
Thnaks again for the suggestion.

I wouldn't worry too much, I'm sure there are quite a few things people would steal from your car before they stole your Sony Aux adapter. I can't imagine there is a huge market for them...
