iTrip and Rev 2 iPods

Hello All,

I have a question regarding iTrip before I buy one.

I have a rev2 20GB iPod. The Rev2 iPods had a small pop-off white tab like cover over the firewire connection that you pop open when pluging into things.

I see that the iTrip not only plugs into the earphone hole but that it also plugs into the firewire hole.

On a rev1 ipod, this probably isn't a problem because the rev1 iPod did not have a door/cover on its firewire port.

Do I have to physically remove this firewire cover in order to use the iTrip? It looks as though I will have to remove it because of the way the iTrip appears to seat itself on top of the iPod.

Anyone that has used an iTrip on a rev2 iPod, please let me know what you did.

TIA

Hi,
The little white plastic tab that you refer to actually just pulls out, and can be pushed back in with ease. I take mine out when I am using the itrip, and then plug the little plastic bit back in when I am not. The bottom end of the plastic tab (which you can't see when it is attached to the ipod has a ribbed edge, and just pushed back in again when you need to

hope this helps

Jeremy
Ps, another tip to itrippers, when setting the freq in the playlists, have volume high, but as soon as you are playing music, keep the music on the ipod about 30-40% max and then use your radio to boost the volume...make ALL the difference
