Male/Female cable

Does anyone make a 6pin male / 6pin female firewire cable? My firewire ports are in the back of my pcs and hard to reach. I'd like to leave a cable permanently plugged in and into which I can plug the Apple cable.

The simplest solution is to just buy a second firewire cable to keep permanently connected to your computer. This will allow you to move the apple cable as needed. There is nothing particularly special about the apple cable that ships with iPod. If you just want to use a cable to power your iPod and NOT transfer data over it, you can get a low cost cable just for this purpose, for example (power only cable):

I have not seen/found any male-to-female *cables* but a firewire hub or firewire repeater will achieve the same goal for you (at higher cost than above options).
Just google "firewire hub" or "firewire repeater" to find a product that meets your needs.
