Anyone had luck with Belkin FM Transmitter?

Wow, I got so excited to think that I could wirelessly play my ipod at home/car/work, WRONG. The guitars and instruments come through nicely, but still with some of annoying static, but the vocals almost don't come through all. I have tried every setting on the Belkin FM Transmitter, even stations that are pure static and have had no luck at all. The batteries ARE fresh, and I've tried every location around the stereo. I have even wrapped the FM attenna around the #### thing and still it was horrible reception. It does get a little bit better when I hold the actual transmitter in my hand, but the vocals still don't come through well at all. Anyone have any tips, or is the Belkin just crappy anyways?

Thanks!

Yo, return that thing....it sucks!
It does not pick up as many stations as the iTrip does.

Here is how I solved the problem. Granted, I still like the idea of an itrip and replacing batteries in the Belkin transmitter is annoying, but I have pretty decent sound now so I am reluctant to change.

I bought an 8ft. stereo extension cable from Radio Shack for my Belkin. I had the same issues, static, whine from the stereo, needing to hold the thing to get good reception, etc. but for some reason the 8ft. cable is acting like an antenna for the transmitter and I have a really good signal now. Actually sounds as good as a cassette adapter I tried in another car. I don't know if it will work for you but for around 5 bucks my problems are solved and I have decent sound. In addition I can put the transmitter anywhere now rather than half a foot from the ipod.

That's not a bad idea.......
