iTrip alternative?

Ok guys.. so I ordered the iTrip for my 3rd gen 10gb iPod, and I heard it doesnt work correctly with it. I think I will cancel the order.. but what are some good alternatives to the iTrip? I was really looking forward to it though! Any ideas? :confused:

I read a post from here that said if you had a cd player that could control a cd changer, then more than likely you could go to a car audio store and have them install a line in through that. The poster said he did it for $35. I havent had time to do that yet, but it is definitely worth a shot since you do not lose quality.

From what i have read about the fm transmitters is that they all work about the same. Some use batteries some dont. Some are digital some arent. The biggest problem with all of them is that you lose sound quality.

Try an FM modulator... it's basically an FM transmitter "hardwired" to your car's audio system via the FM antennae:

Or if you have a CD Changer input, try an adapter that makes the CD input into regular LINE-IN via RCA ports.

May not be the best sound quality but I just bought a cassette adaptor for my new IPOD. Plug it into the headphone jack and put in the cassette and you are up and running. Same quality all the time and do not have to worry about interference.

Just wanted to give a heads up to those who are looking at head units, or in the future. An increasing number of higher-end ones come with an auxiliary jack on the front, inside or outside of the cover, they can make life really simple with an everyday 1/8" jack cord.

Has anyone tried one of these;

Digiana Wireless Portable FM Linker (FM Transmitter)

Try

People use them on their Palm TT's too. I was just poking around whilst waiting for my iTrip. It seems Griffin cant keep up with Apple. I have sold my Gen2 and am waiting for a 15GB. Nice to see Griffin finally brought out the iTRip just as Apple launched the Dockers. How pleased they must have been! . So now they are trying to build a new version as demand outstrips supply of the old one!!!!! Someone is having a laugh.
