Playing nice together.....
Much thanks to Adam and Chris (and all the others) who have helped me get to a point where I am enjoying MC 9 and now have my system nicely organized and transferring to my ipod beautifully.
I am having some trouble getting the media server to work with my two computers (so I only have one library) but they are helping me lots on the J. River board.
My last remaining problem (let's hope!) is with mp4/AAC.
I have about 70 GB of music in this format and I want to be able to (at least) get them on the 'pod, and (eventually) play them at home. At Adam's suggestion I did post a plea for mp4/AAC support on the J River board and I suspect it will come eventually but for now will ephpod do this?
Will it work with MC 9 on the system?
Any other ideas?

I don't recommend uploading tunes to you iPod from two different programs. Mainly because they both manage the iPod's database differently. MC9 for example uses a song ID that is stored in the MC9 database. Ephpod wouldn't know what these are an also would be able to populate them for MC9 (which is expecting this value).
So, long story short...you really shouldn't do it.
Is it possible to convert them from AAC to MC3? I know, bad, bad: lossy to lossy, but for 70 songs maybe it wouldn't be that bad... :)

Yeah, I've BEGGED for AAC support over there too, but they've said it would be very difficult and expensive for them to find a way to support it (and I believe them--they've bent over backwards for us getting features we've requested). With Itunes for windows coming out, I think AAC support is critical for MC9's continued viability as an option for the ipod--the Itunes music store has already sold 10 million songs, and still counting...They may not be able to do it though...
I personally won't use AAC, my life is based around mp3, but I'm concerned that MC9 is going to become a VERY small niche in the application market for the ipod (The Redchair offering doesn't stand a chance IMHO) with Itunes for windows coming out; AAC support would significantly help MC9's chances though--MC9 is still the better program for folks who want all the bells and whistles, but without AAC support, ew boy...

Yeah, I have know idea what Redchair was thinking--hope they didn't waste alot of time and money on it for their sake. They've got a real winner for the Zen; it seems to be more popular than Creative's native software, but they're way too late for the ipod...

Thanks for your input, guys.
Adam, it's 70 gigabytes (not songs)! Hence my problem until iTunes for Windows comes out, assuming it's any good.
