How do I rip from a CD using MusicMatch?
OK, so I bought a 30 GB iPod (my first ever Apple product) and figure it was going to be easy to use.
Well, my first experience is not good.
How the heck do I rip the tracks from a CD so that I can copy them over to my iPod?
If put a CD into the computer CD drive then MusicMatch shows the CDs as being blank!
What is the secret?

First off do you get a list of Tracks...eg Track 01, Track 02 etc ??
If you do then its just a matter of being logged onto the net for the CDDB to look up the track listings...
Has MMJB asked for an Audio CD so it can initialise itself ?
Have you gone into options > Settings and selected the player tab and then pointed the programme to your CD player...?
A lot of people berate MMJB and I can see why sometimes its juss a bit sticky and never really been pushed forward its the same old player it was 4 years ago..more or less...I stick with it because its what I know...
Anyway, not much but somewhere to start, or may be you can try MC 9
best of luck...stick with it ..its definately worth it

I only have one CD drive in my notebook and when I go to the Settings menu under the Options tab and then choose Player there is nowhere to specify the CD drive.
I can see the drive but it just doesn't show anything.

I would reccomend that you download CDex (www.cdex.n3.net). It's free and it does a much better job of ripping than MMJB... My $0.02.
