i had to re-install mc9--what do i do now?
my ipod is poifect--playlists are all cool, all songs ther. mc 9--newest beta installed--it doesnt have the playlists, and i suspect that some stuff is a bit hinky--how can i overwrite the mc9 library with what's on my ipod? i tried to do synchronize ipod info with pc, but it just crashed.

Yeah, that won't work. There is currently no way to get the playlists off of the iPod. No program out there is capable of doing that.
Now, you probably didn't back up your library? There's a feature under File>Library that allows you to back up your library. I recommend doing this from time to time. Especially in beta mode. This would have saved your playlists (yeah, you really want to hear that now).
Well, what I would do is just reimport all your tunes from your PC (you do have them on your PC right?) and then re-create your playlists.
Sorry, it's a bummer, backing up would have saved you from this...

nah, of course i didn't backup--i'm just a caveman! terms such as "backup" confuse, and frighten me...
but i will now! is that just a database list--does it take a lot of hdd space--my wife is already not exactly pleased at 2100 mp3s living on our computer :)
