Question about number of mp3s on iPod and in Ephpod
Just a quick question about the number of mp3 files in Ephpod, and in my Sync folder. I have Ephpod set up to do it's AutoSync thing where it syncs with a folder that I have specified. After I have done many complete syncs I can see that the number of mp3 files that show up on the bottom status bar of Ephpod does not match the number of mp3s that are in the folder that i have specified for it to sync with. The number that Ephpod displays is about 25 mp3s short of what are in my sync folder. Anyone have any ideas why?

if you have songs that you want to transfer over to the iPod and the have the exact same id3 tags, the iPod will only use the song that was first transfered over. The songs that i'm having trouble with had the same id3 tags except for the track number. So why it puts them all as one song, i do not know. Anyone know if it the problem in the iPod firmware, or in Ephpod?

are your mp3?s id3 v1, or v2, or v1 & v2? if they are the latter, then v2 takes precedence over v1. this means the songs may have different tracknumbers in v1 but not v2. that may be why they are transferred as one song.
to solve this problem tag all your songs as id3 v2. v2 gives you a couple of more options (like creating your own genre, f.e. travis = whiny pop ;) ) and the ability to name looong songnames (where as the title gets cut off at a certain point in v1).

all of my mp3s are complete albums, and i use tag&rename to make sure both id3 v1 and v2 are the same, so yes all my songs have both v1 and v2 tags. the track numbers are formatted like this: 01, 02, 03, 04...
i wonder if they should be like this: 1, 2, 3, 4...
what do you think?
