ID3 TagIT ( http://www.id3-tagit.de/)
By far probably the most recommended and used tag program here.

Try this one. I've used it and have over 1000 mp3s tagged and working fine on my WinPod.

i currently have 16,407 mp3's, 102 GB's. I've taggeg everyone of them using Tag&Rename. When you write v2 tags it automatically writes v1 tags. Its a great program. You can mass tag with it as well.

The one thing that Tag&Rename has that I think is great are the export features. I am hoping to export my music list to an XML file or a database once I am done ripping all my CDs.
Has anybody done much with the T&R export features? Are there other Tag Editors that match up to T&R that have the same export features (or similar)?
My plan is to export the files to XML and build a web interface to my list for my personal website.
